Duvel
is a high fermentation beer that is still brewed today based on the craftsmanship
of yesteryear.
Duvel is made using the finest barley malt and hops, with no additives
or preservatives. Duvel is not pasteurised and so is entirely pure and
natural. Like champagne, secondary fermentation and long maturation occur
in the bottle, giving the beer its highly distinctive taste. When poured
into the traditional cup-shaped sampling glass, the beer foams into a
generous layer of froth. The balance between a fine aroma and subtly bitter
taste give this beer a unique place in the rich tradition of Belgian beer.

Schneider Weisse: German beer, the King of Weisse Beer. This is the tastiest Weisse beer that you will come across. Slight hints of lemon and fruit, very refreshing. Its complex aroma consists of light fruit, a touch of spice (cloves and nutmeg) and maybe some vanilla. There is also a malty touch that seems to hint at the strength - at 5.4%. On the palate it is quite spritzy, yet smooth and subtly spicy, with complex light fruit - apples, lemons, oranges, bananas and melons, with a pear-drop estery hint. It's finish is slightly sweeter and again quite malty, with the light, lemon-zesty fruit lingering in a smoothly cloying aftertaste. Overall this beer's classic status is well-deserved - it is smooth, complex and refreshing, with a hidden strength. |

CHIMAY RED This is distinctive in its chocolate-brown colour, which makes it particularly attractive. Topped by a stable, whitish froth, it has a slightly fruity, apricot-like scent that comes from the fermentation. The aroma perceived in the mouth is a balance that confirms the fruity nuances detectable to the sense of smell. A slight hint of bitterness gives this a refreshing taste with a silky feeling on the tongue. On the palate, the taster perceives a pleasant sharpness which completes the taste qualities of this beer perfectly. |

CHIMAY BLUE Main dark beer produced within the very heart of a Trappist abbey, Blue Chimay is distinctive, above all, in its very character of a strong beer. This is a product whose scent of fresh yeast combined with a slightly rosaceous flowery touch is particularly pleasant. Its aroma, perceived on sampling in the mouth, only serves to heighten the pleasant sensations perceived in the scent, at the same time revealing a slight and enjoyable caramelised type note. |

Leffe Blonde 6.6 percent Alcohol Brewed in Belgium since 1152. Over the centuries, monasteries across Europe have built a unique reputation for patiently developing unique drinks using the very best of local climate, soils, crops and skills. Naturally, in Belgium, the monasteries devoted their skills to brewing beer. Leffe, our original abbey beer, traces its origins back to the Abbey Notre Dame de Leffe, founded in 1152 on the river Meuse in the province of Namur. It was here, sheltered in this calm valley, that the original recipe for Leffe was conceived. At that period of our history, abbeys and monasteries provided shelter, food and refreshment to passing travelers and pilgrims alike. Being entirely self-sufficient, the Norbertine monks at Leffe hand-crafted their own beer, brewed naturally from the finest local ingredients with an almost religious dedication. |

Erdinger Weissbier Wheat, 5,3% percent Alcohol Brewed in Germany since 1853. Erdinger is very pale and pours with the characteristic high-rise, fine-bubbled, long-lasting head. On the nose there are grassy, hay-like hops, slightly reminiscent of a lager, with a wheaty cloves-and-bubblegum touch. On the tongue the bubblegum flavour is again distinctive - it is quite lively and bitter, but refreshing. There is also a rubbery note and a slightly oily mouthfeel. Spicy and fruity flavours are present but subtle, a little like vanilla ice cream with a hint of cloves and oranges. The vanilla and wheat flavours continue into the shortish, slightly bitter aftertaste. A somewhat unexceptional example of the style, but nevertheless a pleasant and refreshing beer. |

KWAK 8%
Named after Pauwel Kwak who first brewed this gourmet beer in 1791. The family-owned Brewery Bosteels located in Buggenhout, Belgium, brews Kwak in the zuur Flanders style producing a dry, assertively tart beer. Kwak has a slightly sweet flavour, a fruity aftertaste, and a hint of bitterness. Top-fermented, it has a rich, copper colour with a creamy head. The distinctive glass originated from coachmen needing a way to enjoy beer since Napoleonic Code forbade them sharing a drink with the passengers. Kwak developed this glass so the coachmen could remain seated yet hang the glass on the coach and enjoy the rich beer too. (8% )ABV) |
